Skeena Sawmills Position:&nbspSawfiler with Red Seal Certificate or Equivalent We are looking for a Sawfiler. Terrace is literally a city built within a forest; steep mountain slopes are dotted with beautiful hanging valleys, sweet and clean mountain air, and endless tracts of forest to stagger the imagination and rejuvenate the soul. Job Type: Full-time (Swing Shift's 8 hours per day &ndash 5 days per week) Salary: $46.67 per hour (Next increase July 1, 2023) USW Local 1-1937 Benefits: Dental care Extended health care Vision care Pension Plan Life Insurance &amp AD&ampD Disability Insurance A Saw Filer is&nbspresponsible for safely maintaining saw equipment, performing machine alignment and providing preventive maintenance to saw filing machines. A Saw Filer's role is not only key to providing the safe operation of saw equipment, but it is also crucial in the efficient production of a sawmill. Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience. Certified Journeyperson Circular Saw Filer or Benchperson Experience in a sawmill environment Demonstrated leadership in mill safety processes and consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to safety values Experience with filing shop equipment calibration and maintenance Understanding of internal quality control and machine alignment procedures Experience tensioning and leveling saws Understanding of planned/preventive maintenance processes Produce quality work products Must have the ability to work in a team environment and have good work habits and solid attendance history.
