The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) is currently seeking suitable applicants for the position of Gateway Operator. Reporting to the Manager, Safety &amp Security & the Manager, Marine Operations, the Gateway Operator is responsible for the daily monitoring, reporting and operation of the PRPA Gateway. The Gateway Operator conducts marine, security and road/rail operations duties with support and guidance from the Manager, Marine Operations & Manager, Safety & Security. The Gateway Operator is also responsible for various administrative tasks such as permit approvals, declarations of security, and the management of the harbour schedule. The ideal candidate will possess some post-secondary education as well as two to five years' of customer service-related experience and exercises good judgment when dealing with sensitive issues and confidential information. In addition, the ideal candidate will also possess good spoken and written communications skills and will be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
